Growing Up was voted a Family Favorite by Boston Parents Paper 2012. It’s something that means so much to us, I’m sorry I didn’t post about it earlier, like in 2012. Thank you to Boston Parents Paper and more importantly to all of the customers that voted for us. When you shop at Growing Up you aren’t simply shopping, you are making friends and supporting the local community. We love watching your children grow, week after week; year after year.

Cost Cutting Tips For This Season And Beyond

Now that the holiday shopping season is upon us, we are all frantically searching for good deals on gifts for our friends and loved ones. (That’s why many of you shop at our store.) Here are some of our tips for saving on purchases for the holiday and all year round.

1. Woot. Such a fun site. We go on each day to see its daily deal. And it’s just one deal that lasts 24 hours — or sooner if the stock runs out.  (There’s also a site for kids gear.)

2. Retail Me Not. The stop for tons of online promo codes and printable coupons. It’s easy to save hundreds of dollars a year thanks to this site.

3. Coupons.com. This site regularly rotates its list of printable coupons for food, cleaning products, toiletries, and more.

4. Invisible Hand. Working with over 100 major shopping Websites, this Firefox add-on pops up if it finds another site that offers the product you’re looking at for a lower price.

What Websites or programs do you use to save your hard-earned money?  Leave a comment with your tip so that we all can learn and save!

“Green Friday” at Growing Up

Do crowds at The Mall give you the sweats? Looking to save some money this holiday season? Well then — if you’re in Boston for the holiday, come on over this Friday. We’ll open early at 8 a.m. to give you 15% off everything in the store. DVDs will be 25% off.  We’ve also designated certain gear (inc. a brand new stroller, lego table, and other goodies) for deep discounts. A photo album of these items, along with their discounts, can be found on our Facebook page.

If getting up early post-Thanksgiving to shop isn’t in your DNA, there is a Starbucks at the end of the block. Here’s hoping we see you this Friday!toy piano
